Sep. 23rd, 2007 11:28 amSo, I just got a call from my sister.
Apparently, while my mother was trying to help my aunt change a flat tire, the car fell on her hand. And in my sister's words: "She cut her finger off, so we're in the emergency room." Further clarification was not forthcoming, short of, "She's fine. She's in a lot of pain, but she's fine." I kept saying, "What?" but she just kept repeating what she'd just said only slower.
Exaggeration? Temporary condition? Who knows. I'm going to go have a subtle freak-out right now.
UPDATE: They're back from the hospital. My mom's right index finger is gone from the tip down to the first knuckle. She's got a gigantic bandage and a prescription for pain meds, but other than all of that, she's going to be fine.
