I did not really get a 2310 on the SAT.
I did not really get a 2310 on the SAT.
I did not really get a 2310 on the SAT.

*peeks at score*

Nope. Still the same. Another dozen or so times, and I might believe it.

(This means that I could possibly get into a college that people have heard of. That isn't in Pittsburgh. And not have to pay full tuition.

...Cool.)

Awesome! *high-five*

(I'm in my freshman year of college, out of state. Cool, indeed.)

Wow!

2310?! Out of 2400? WOW. I only got a 2170 (lost 150 on the math. I'm a slow solver of math problems. Also got an 800 on Verbal, and 720 on writing), and I thought THAT was good. You beat me by 140! Congratulations, that's absolutely fantastic.

Colleges say that SAT scores are only one factor of many in admissions, but I know from experience that it's a bigger deal than they make it out to be. My roommate freshman year was Valedictorian of her school and had a ton of extracurriculars and volunteer work, and I had a far less stellar record but a much higher SAT. I got into the Honors program, and she didn't even make it into scholars, which is a level under. So basically, good SAT scores really help, and yours are way better than just "good." Way to go! I hope you make it into whatever school you want.

Congratulations!

you may not want to look at chatham then, cause they don't even look at SAT scores. wait, you did say you were looking there, didnt you?

congradulations, too. :D
(the fact that i spelled that wrong is an indicator that my score was a third lower than yours)

I never took the SAT, but I got a 28 on the ACT. Your score is still better though.

Thanks!

Yeah, I know, they claim it doesn't matter that much... but even on the official checklists most of them send out, standardized test scores come in as the second most important factor.

I'm going to apply, even though it's very likely that I won't go there.

Andrea, I love you. You are amazing.

I honestly know almost nothing about how the ACT works. Is 28 good? (I'm assuming it is, because you're smart.)

The ACT is on a scale from (I think) 1-36, with four sections. Math, Science, Reading, and English. 28 is an above average score, but anything above a 30 is a great score. I think average is somewhere between 21 and 23. My section score in Math is what kept me from getting a great score. I got a 20 in math, a 26 in science, a 30 in english, and a 34 in reading.

28 seems pretty good, from what I've seen of college acceptance things...but again, I know next to nothing.

34 in reading, though! That must be good.

OMG YAY!!! THAT IS AWESOME!!!

(UEUEUEUEUEUEUEUEUEUEUE)

*cough*

You could get National Merit. And get LOADS of money.

UE scholarships...well, if you are first in your class you can get half or full tuition paid. Based on lots of stuff including SAT, you could get up to $13,500 for academic scholarship...And if you are a national merit finalist you get full tuition. Semi-finalists get 3/4 tuition.

The website is here: http://www.evansville.edu/prospects/financialaid/scholarships/firsttimescholarships.asp

(P.S. You should go to UE. It is a very good school. I will go to great lengths to prove this to you.)

Happy!

Um, hi, I saw you commenting in [livejournal.com profile] matociquala's journal, while I was trolling her entries from way back, and I just wanted to drop by and say hello, and ask, do you mind that I friend you?

I admit that I mainly want to friend you because, yes, there really is someone else who was mistaken for being in her twenties while fifteen! Yes!

(I'm eighteen now, but I still remember that as one of the greatest what-the-hell moments of my life so far.)
