It was a fun video to watch given the song (taking him home to your mom!) I think your thesis comes through though after 1:30. Yes, it's so lighthearted a relationship yet at the same time, so disturbing, because Julian isn't just a Starfleet officer, he's a doctor who is very committed to what that means.
