History is fun and depressing.

Well, I spent three hours today reading correspondence by and about Adelaide Hobe. Who is Adelaide Hobe, you ask? She's the computer from Lick Observatory who saved the theory of relativity by discovering errors in the computations of a man who had earlier "disproved" it.
And then, after seventeen years working at the Observatory, she went to work for a food research group.
And now all of my thoughts are coming out in the language of the turn of the century. Which is really surprisingly fun.
