Or something.

Why? Because I feel triumphant. I just finished Le Morte D'Arthur. It took me a while, but I finished it.

There. Bragging post over. XD

YAY!

What did you think?

(I think I need to do some Arthurian CM icons.)

We're knights of the round table
we dance whenever we're able...

I thought...Arthur was an idiot. I spent quite a bit of the last three books yelling at him. Also, unless I missed it, Percival doesn't heal the grail king in this version. Granted, it's very, very possible that I missed it.

That said, I liked it. It was, you know, epic. I'm a sucker for epic stuff. (And doomed lovers. Which it also has its fair share of.)

Oh, please do those icons. I'm begging you.

I think you might be right. I haven't read Mallory in decades....

Yeah, I think it was Galahad. Galahad did almost everything on the grail quest, actually.

Yeah, Mallory is late to the party and lets the French do all the cool stuff.

Lame. *g*

re, icons: Reid's would have to be "a parfait gentil knight," wouldn't it? And Garcia's something from "the Lady Of Shallott."

Hee. It took me forever to figure out how the knights were related to each other, and when I finally did, I realized that all the cool ones were French. (Or Cornish. Tell me, why did nobody like Cornish knights?)

Wow, I just remembered how much I love "The Lady of Shallott." And I gave away my Tennyson book. I'll have to look it up online.

And for irony, Morgan's should be something about the purity of Galahad.

Find me a quote, and I will use it.

I'm on it. (This is fun.)

Okay. I found one. (Surprisingly, it took a while. They don't start talking about purity for pages.)

"But the heat might not abide his pure virginity."

There are others, but I think that's the best one.

That is a good one. *g*

Any others, kick 'em out. I can make more than one.

Oh, on a complete aside, and pursuant to our conversation about food-related business in CM, how about Gideon splitting his orange up four ways and sharing it with Elle, Hotch, and Morgan in "Broken Mirror?"

Totally understated and totally right....

They eat, sleep, flirt, and cry on the job. They really have no lives....

Uh huh. It's just there. There's actually a lot about "Broken Mirror" that I love. Including Hotch with a sense of humor.

No, they're really don't. Social life? What's that?

Really fun, actually. You have no idea how funny it is to turn to your best friend and say, "Hey, listen to this! 'And Arthur begat upon his sister...'"

And then to have your friend's eyes grow about two inches in every direction. "Does that mean what I think it means?"

Yeah. Good times.

Oh. Man. It seriously says that?! Wow. Yay for old literature . . .

Speaking of literature, I fully intend on finishing beta-reading your fic tomorrow. Every time I start on it, I get "Dinner's here! Come on! Are you coming? Are you just not gonna eat?" or "Heeeeey, my favorite sister! Who is my favorite sister in the world? Help me with this 5 page essay/my poetry questions/my math problems/my outline etc." or "Will you please come to the grocery with me?" or "We're leaving now. (But you said 45 minutes! D:) Well, your aunt needs us to stop by today, so we're leaving now!" or "We're watching ___ now, and we're not waiting" or "Did you finish cleaning your room? No?! You're not allowed on the computer until you finish it!" It's been driving me crazy. Not to mention yardwork, house cleaning, having to work for my grandpa for a few days, and being out of the house all weekend. I keep saying "I'll do it today! I really need to do it today!" and then something comes up. I've gone over the same few paragraphs so many times . . .

But! Tomorrow my parents are at work and my sister will be at school, so as long as my Grandpa lets me work Thursday instead of tomorrow, I'll FINALLY be able to finish editing it. It's taken me long enough. I'm surprised you haven't sent me an e-card saying "You are the suckiest beta-reader EVER. Have a crappy day!" But tomorrow, unless the universe hates us both, I WILL have it done! *Fist of determination* And then I can start on my Heroes fic, having finished the season. And maybe reading any other fics you're brave enough to send me.

Well, then, I guess those few paragraphs will be just about the best fanfiction ever unleashed upon the Internet. XD

As for new fics, I have a couple ideas floating around that I need to sit down and write. Which I will do. Soon. (Trust me, I understand the "Oh my God, there's so much going on" thing.)

Yeah, my parents didn't go into work until noon today. So I vacuumed and cleaned my bathroom from 9-10:15, went walking with my parents from 10:15-11:30, had lunch from 11:45-12:30, and took a shower until one. After which I got dressed, relaxed for a bit, read the last Heroes comic, and started to edit. . . when, sure enough, my sister came home from school early and asked me to help her with her homework again. And she bribed me with homemade cookies to put my full time and effort in. I then realized that I had yet to wipe down the bathroom sinks and counter and finish cleaning my room which had somehow gotten messy in a few days. And then I replied to some LJ comments, and my friend who I haven't talked to in days got online.

So the universe DOES, in fact, enjoy getting in my way. I suppose I jinxed myself by saying I'd have it done. The world said "Oh HO? Finished on Tuesday, you say? WE'LL SEE ABOUT THAT!" So I'm going to just say that I HOPE to finish it tomorrow (Wednesday), and cross my fingers that fate does not see fit to punish my cockiness this time.

I hope you find time to write them soon! I really do love them, not that you could tell by the rate I've returned them. I need to just start getting up earlier, so I have more time for things.

I'm also kind of torn on how to start my fic. I have a couple ideas, none of which are fantastic or particularly winning out over the other ideas. Options: A. Start with immediately post-explosion right off the bat and only fill in the changed events from the few days before in various flashbacks when relevant. B. Begin with a moment that we saw in episode 20, and then leap back to either post-explosion or the beginning of the pre-explosion changed events and go from there. C. Start a bit AFTER the events of 20 and do the same. D. Start with the moments directly before the explosion, as in Peter's already radioactive and all that jazz. or E. Start with a vague, not really specifically any time reflective first-person thingy that's more setting the stage and theme and then leap in at either post-explosion or pre-explosion stuff.

Plus, I've already run into a few roadblocks, such as: If Claire was directly by Peter when he exploded, wouldn't she be basically turned to ash and not be able to regenerate (and by extension: How exactly do nuclear blasts work and what do they do at what range? How could one explain Claire NOT being there but still have HRG convince people she died there? Would the explosion necessarily be radioactive? How will people explain Peter still being alive if found in the bombed NYC? Would his clothes be burned away (XD)? Would Sylar have had to have gotten radioactive but NOT exploded to convince those around right before the exlosion that he could have caused it?) I know how to explain DL and Niki not getting Micah back and surviving, and how to get Mohinder/Molly and HRG/Matt out (Micah's not in the hallway so the Mo's get caught by guards and flown away (Linderman's also alive- you'll see), and Hiro is there earlier, doesn't sword Sylar, and teleports the latter two out of there. Of course, that begs the question of how they'll explain the shot-up Matt to the police.) SO yeah. This is going to take some thinking. What HAVE I gotten myself into?
