Here you go, [livejournal.com profile] matociquala. There's really only one character on Criminal Minds.

Elle gets Sarah Danlin, too, I think.

Possibly far more than Reid does.

I think there's some of her in Prentiss, too. considering Prentiss is obviously identifying with her like whoa.

hee. And while I am proving myself pathetic....

Oh,and what about Ethan=reid? And Sexist Cop = Sarah Danlin = ?? (JJ maybe? She's with him the whole ep.) ?

And Prentiss = Natalya.

Now I am thinking of the CotW/Unsub parallels.... Charles Holcomb and McGee, etc.

Date: 2007-09-08 05:11 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
But to equate Holcomb to McGee, I have to equate McGee to someone already on the web, unless I want to start another little mini-web like JJ's.

Hm.

From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Hmm.

Holcomb is !Hotch. Right? (see icon?)

I thought Hotch was Stephen? (The other Stephen.) Unless Stephen is Holcomb...

Date: 2007-09-08 05:20 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
No, 'Cause Hotch steps into Holcomb's role there.

Completing the tortured/torturer circle. (And providing a sort of reflection on NBK.) I like it. It will be in the revision.

Yes.

Oh, what about Hotch in Psychodrama? And Morgan and the boys in Profiler Profiled? I see you got Peter/Charlie....?

Date: 2007-09-08 05:35 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
Yes, yes. Okay, Hotch in Psychodrama is the killer. (Also, Hotch is the woman from The Perfect Storm, I think. At least a little bit. Or maybe he's the victim.)

And Morgan is James, definitely. "James, I told you. I used to be you."

Date: 2007-09-08 05:39 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Morgan is all those boys.

Including the one with no name.

Yes.

I think Reid is the victim in Perfect Storm. He just doesn't know it yet.

"She'll never be the same!"

Just like he's the victim (Maggie) in "Legacy," and the motherless son (Allegro) in "Empty Planet."

Date: 2007-09-08 05:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
I have Allegro! He's up there under "Kenneth." (Which is, in fact, his name.)

Well, Maggie's almost got to be someone. I think she might be another version of Bobbi, actually. (Open Season and Legacy are set up pretty similarly, with one victim who we follow the entire time.)

But the sense of responsibility...that's all Reid.

From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Yes.

You know, she's got some Hotch parallels too. Getting back to her kid. Playing fair. Doing what's right.

Of course, I have me a suspicion that Eddie B reads him a lot of mythology. And one of the tenets of certain fairytale construction theories is that every character in a fairy tale represents an aspect of the same person.

So, in a way, mythologically speaking, all these people are the same.

Oh, and Reid = Tobias, but Reid also = Raphael. And Raphael, on some level, I think, = Hotch.

"Unlike yourself. Right now."

Yeah, I see what you mean. I may have to do a revision.

(Also, why do I have no Garcia icons? It's really very upsetting.)

I have many you could choose from. Or I could make you one, if you have something in mind.

From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Jane = Mary Breitkopf = Diana Reid = Spencer Reid.

"He's already here." In that tone of pity. Because he knows how much she is afraid of Frank, and how much she wants love. Because he's her.

Also, Reid = Randall Garner. "Can you forgive yourself?" Or possibly Randall Garner = Diana and his daughter = Reid. Trapped away from the world by an insane parent.

Date: 2007-09-08 05:21 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
He's both. That's what makes it so insane. The captured and the capturer...

Or at least, that's what he thinks. And what he thinks is what's important, in the "forgive yourself" thing.

Date: 2007-09-08 05:24 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Which also equates Randall with Mary B.

And, hell. Frank with Rebecca.

Rebecca with Reid. Rebecca with Tobias. Johnny with Tobias.

And then there's all the dominant/submissive partnerships: Charles/Tobias, Perfect Storm, Extreme Agressor, Paul/Johnny, Gideon/Reid... too lazy to go look up names right now. ;-)

There's always a dominant and submissive partner, says Gideon.

Right, so who's the dominant one in his relationship with Hotch? Nobody. That's a good relationship, not a pathological one.

God, I love this stuff. It's crack.

Date: 2007-09-08 05:29 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
(More people I forgot!)

Frank and Rebecca...Well, Frank=Gideon=Reid=Rebecca. Or even Frank=Reid=Rebecca. And it always works out, because the killers can still be the victims. (And in fact, usually are.)

It's way worse than crack.

Date: 2007-09-08 05:30 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Frank is his own damned victim.

Yes.

Also, Gideon might be the mom in WFH instead.

"How do you know?"
"I know."

From: [identity profile] beatriceeagle.livejournal.com
His two wedding rings. Yeah, you're right.

But by the same reasoning...two wedding rings. And "continuing the fight" even when you start to lose track of what you're even fighting for anymore. He's the dad too.

(Oh, and Gideon/Reid and father/Lyov from HAT. Stupid mental block.)

Date: 2007-09-08 05:36 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] matociquala.livejournal.com
Yeah.

And Prentis and her mom, as well.

Who are Natalya and her father.

And of course, Morgan thinks he's Natalya. "Here in America, you can get help. You just have to ask."

"Is that true?"

"Sometimes."

Dammit, I don't have my (don't tell her she got) lucky icon up right now. *g*

And I want it.

It looks like with the spoiler, spoiler is moving into a parallel role too. "Don't tell her she got lucky." "She'll never be the same again."

And of course Elle is the rape victims in Aftermath. What Garner did to her was a form of rape, certainly.
